Brotherly Love

What a lucky girl Sara is to have such a sweet big brother to love and look after her! Chase has been so wonderful with Sara. Even though she isn't the brother he was hoping for, he is so happy to have her around. I love to watch him interact with her. The other night I caught him doing his read-aloud homework to her. She sat in her bouncy seat happy as can be as Chase read to her. She actually gave him her first big belly laugh. I tried to catch her doing it again on video with no luck. Chase is always willing to hold her and love her whenever I need to get something done around the house. Without him we wouldn't have dinner!!!!!! A few nights ago I asked him to take care of her while I gave the girls baths. When I was all finished I went to see what they were up to and Chase had fallen asleep with Sara on his bed. The sweetest thing though is that he had tucked her in with all of his precious stuffed animals. If you don't know, Chase holds these guys up on a pedestal. It was just so sweet to see that he had protected her with all of his treasures. What a lucky little sister! He is lobbying hard to have her share a room with him when we finally let her out of our closet :-)

Seriously the cutest picture ever of them sleeping. What a great big brother Sara has. He is her protector and probably always will be. Any future boys will have to go through Chase to get to Sara. So adorable.

That is awesome! I was #5 in my family, and my oldest brother was 8. My mom always told me I was his baby because he cared for me so much. I wish I could remember it. I hope you continue to find opportunities to take more pictures like this so Sara can "remember" her big brother taking care of her.

That is SO sweet. My oldest brother was 12 when I was born and he is holding me in most of my baby pictures. I always remember sitting on his lap in church while he played with my hair. Darling!

Both pictures are absolutely the sweetest things I have seen! Chase is such a great kid. I can't believe how "grown-up" he looks. Sara & Chase are going to love this bond they are forming forever!

to Chase,

I did not know you had a Croagunk figure. I have one, too.

This post touched my heart. Having an older brother is such a great thing. How sweet to see your oldest and youngest have special moments together. The picture with Chase and Sara sleeping is so tender.

I see you also have a collection of Pokemon at your house. Lori has been in love with Pokemon for at least 3 years, it drives Rand nuts. He keeps hoping she will grow out of it but that just seems to back fire on him.
